Who to contact
The Cape Pour is a developing wine education and curation brand founded by Joshua Smitsdorff and Lloyd Jusa. Joshua is the contact for website enquiries and privacy requests: smitsdorffjosh@gmail.com. A registered company, business address and Information Officer registration have not been confirmed. Paid bookings are not open.
Age check and palate quiz
The age check saves an adult-confirmation flag for this browser session. We do not ask for a date of birth or identity document. Reset it using “Age preference” in the footer. Quiz answers stay in page memory and are cleared on restart or reload. Optional share links contain only a generic style-profile identifier, not your answers or contact details.
Enquiries: review before sending
The forms use the name, email, interests, message and optional planning details you enter to prepare a draft in your browser. They do not submit it to our server. Required fields help prepare a useful enquiry; you can instead email us directly and share only what is needed. Please do not include identification documents, card details, medical information or other sensitive information.
After confirming consent, you may open the draft in your email app, copy it or download it. Opening an email draft passes it to your email app or provider. Only sending that email delivers your enquiry to Joshua’s Gmail inbox. The website cannot verify delivery. An enquiry is not a reservation, purchase or subscription.
Purpose and recipients
If you send an enquiry, its purpose is to respond to your request and discuss the experience. Joshua receives it; relevant planning details may be discussed with co-founder Lloyd to answer your questions. An enquiry does not authorise marketing. We will ask before passing your contact details to a venue or supplier to arrange a service.
Storage and service providers
The website does not save form entries in a business database, cookies or local storage. You can clear a draft before sending; downloaded files and clipboard copies remain under your control. Email drafts and sent messages are subject to your email provider’s storage settings. Enquiries sent to us are held in Gmail, not in the website.
Sites hosting and its infrastructure providers process technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the website. Google processes messages sent to Gmail. These providers may process information outside South Africa under their own terms. There are no advertising scripts, analytics tools or remote fonts in the site’s source. External links open other websites only when selected.
A formal enquiry-retention schedule and the business’s operational privacy arrangements are still being finalised. We do not claim that messages are automatically deleted after a fixed period. Please use the contact above to request deletion or ask what information is held. Further collection and paid bookings require an updated notice and completed business arrangements.
Your choices and rights
You can leave without completing a form, clear an unsent draft or decline to send it. For information already emailed, contact Joshua to request access, correction or deletion, withdraw consent, or object to processing. Applicable legal duties may affect what can be deleted. We will explain any information needed to handle your request; do not send identity documents with your initial email.
Privacy concerns
You may also contact South Africa’s Information Regulator or use its POPIA complaint forms. This notice describes the current enquiry-only website; it is not a claim of completed regulatory registration or legal certification.
